Is Your Business Eligible for More Tax Credit Next Year?

Did you know that your business could receive up to $2400-9600 when you hire eligible military veterans or public aid recipients?

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) rewards employers for employing from eight, separate target groups. These range from young, military war veterans to food stamp (SNAP) and family assistance recipients (TANF). Additionally, pending legislation may include more groups, such as the long-term, unemployed .

Currently, qualified persons include:

Military veterans who have suffered from service connected disabilities, been unemployed in the last 12 months, or received SNAP benefits.

SNAP (Food Stamps) Recipients

TANF (Long Term Temporary Assistance for Families)

Short-term TANF recipients

Designated Community Residents

Ex-felons

Social Security Income (SSI) recipients

Summer Youth Employees (residing in an Empowerment Zone)

Many people were out of work with the recent recession years. Do you know a young parent who's been laid off or maybe someone who is struggling to make ends meet? This month, the USDA reports that over 46 million are receiving food stamps. That's more than California's state population.

As our soldiers return from duty, more and more new veterans are searching for work. How many former service men and women have you met who fought overseas in the past two years? Businesses who hire in this segment can qualify for up to $9600 for new hires.

Hiring from these populations could boost your bottom line or reduce your tax liability by thousands. To learn more, visit the Department of Labor's WOTC page, or contact me at Tax Credit Management Group, L.L.C. I would be happy to answer any questions.
