Description:

The industrial section council advises the ASA board of directors and staff on issues and trends specific to industrial staffing.

The council also develops sector-specific resources for ASA membership on an as-needed basis as well as coordinates professional development and networking opportunities for members in the industrial section.

The industrial section serves firms that place workers in manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and industrial- and construction-based businesses, including warehouse, assembly, transportation, hospitality, and maintenance workers; food handlers; cleaners; drivers; tradespeople; machine operators; and day laborers. 

Goals & Priorities: 

The industrial section council will explore resources, education, and networking opportunities around the topics that are most pressing to industrial staffing firms. Topics to explore may include:

  • Drug testing for marijuana in industrial staffing
  • Attracting talent and minimizing recruiter burnout in the industrial sector
  • Employee safety and OSHA compliance
  • The section council will plan at least 2 educational webinars as well as hold bi-monthly section networking calls. 

Ideal Volunteer: 

Members should have at least 3 years of industrial staffing experience to qualify as a section council volunteer. 

Time Commitment: 

The time commitment for ASA section council members is 1-2 hours per month. Members are required to attend at least 75% of section council calls.
