  • 1.  WOTC Questionnaire

    The WOTC questionnaire must be complete on or before an offer of employment - so my question is:  Where has your organization plugged your questionnaire in at - During the application or during onboarding with the I-9, W-4s, etc?
    Seems like the safest bet would be during the application, but I am concerned applicants might drop off if the app gets is too cumbersome.  
    I would love your insight.

    We have our WOTC Questionnaire as part of our onboarding packet which works well for us because our process is to onboard to add to the Talent pool, and then place from there. Assuming everything happens as it should, onboarding occurs and then the Talent is placed on assignment shortly after so the requirements are met. Our vendor has indicated to us the questionnaire should be completed on or before the first date worked, so I think that may also impact the timeline vs. on or before an offer of employment which could make it a bit more cumbersome.

    We insert the WOTC form in our new hire packet.  Our HR team decided years ago that we didn't want to collect the information in the application phase because much of the information is demographic in nature and could be viewed as discriminatory.

    Same here as the others. We've inserted it at the beginning of the application with the voluntary stuff like EEOC and such.
