  • 1.  Commissions on Payrolling Business

Over the years we have incentivized our ability to payroll talent for clients by paying commissions to AE/Recruiters etc. With costs increasing and more clients coming to us directly with people they want to put on our payroll we are re-evaluating.

We are interested if other firms pay a commission on payrolling services?
If so, do they commission less for payrolling?

    Thank you ASA community

We commission for payrolling, but only sales and not recruiting.  Our belief is that we got that payroll because of the salesperson's relationship.
    Thanks

Jason - As you know, this business is less profitable than contingent staffing, so it doesn't make economic sense to commission it the same as that side of the house. It probably makes more sense to pay a one-time bonus for this type of account rather than an ongoing commission based on gross profit.

The real issue is whether or not you want to target and grow payrolling accounts. Answer that question and you'll know (a) whether you should pay any incentive for it and (b) if so, how much.
