ATS Systems... What say you?

    Greetings ALL
We've been using Avionte/Avionte Bold for quite sometime now.

I'm curious what others are using, do they have a backend, and are you happy with it.

    And... Go!

    Thank you

    Hi Keith,
We are a mid-range agency with diverse industries. We currently use TempWorks but are shopping for a full spectrum ATS/Payroll software. We have only been with them for 18 months and are incredibly disappointed.  Following this as well. We are looking at Avointe. What is causing you to look for a different set up?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

We are a L/I and Direct Hire firm in MI - We were on Adaptsuite and had been 30 year clients going all the way back to Dataforce.  When Bullhorn bought Bond they promised to develop Adaptsuite but bailed .  We looked at Avionte, CEIPAL, Bullhorn (They do not have a truly integrated platform like Avionte/TW and Adapt at least they never were able to show us a functional one - just connections to payroll systems)  We chose TempWorks and compared to Adaptsuite, is Phenomenal.  Our experience so far has been night and day better when compared to Bullhorn so I am curious as to what your disappointment with Tempworks has been (certainly want to be aware of possible difficulties)

We are a mid size staffing company and our niche is light industrial.  We use Avionte/Avionte BOLD and are very pleased with the ATS.

I'm glad to be involved in this discussion as we have been researching software for several months. We currently use Adapt which was purchased by Bullhorn (previously purchased by VCG, then Bond).  We are not being forced to move or migrate to Bullhorn but are limited in our ability to integrate with other tech tools because of the nature of it's closed API.  We have done a demo with Avionte, UltraStaff Edge, Job Adder, Aquore/Zenople, Tempworks, and Bullhorn.  Each seems to have it's strengths; however, we are very comfortable with a fully integrated front and back office (as we've had for years with Bond).  The market seems to be moving to a model where the crm is the hub and then we (staffing firms) choose the spokes (tech stack including payroll).  We are also concerned about many of the smaller players being purchased and ending up right back in our current situation.  As a firm who handles both direct  hire and temporary staffing, a solid back office is as important as a super user interface for recruiters and temporary employees. I'd really appreciate others sharing their experiences, and we are also glad to share what we learn.

Following this thread. We're on Avionte Classic and don't wish to move over to their BOLD platform. There were too many gaps when we looked at it. They are sunsetting their Aero platform which means we have to find another ATS by end of year. We need a back office system for payroll and invoicing. Due to legal issues between Zenople and Avionte, that is not an option, although that appeared to be a great platform. We only have 8 users and Tempworks doesn't seem to play well with smaller companies so we're having to research more options. Would love if anyone has any ideas. Our team consists of power users and we want a software that has all the bells and whistles.

    Hi Larkin

Not thus far. Our Director of Finance just returned from Avionte's annual "Connect" conference so we'll be going over her take-a-ways early next week.

Keith -- As you know, this is a critical question and your ATS is the heartbeat of your staffing organization. There is no right answer here. The solution depends on what the expectations are of the staffing firm. This is one of those situations where you must "begin with the end in mind." A clear definition of what you want/need/wish the ATS can do, clearly thought out, is the first step in the process. Then you can begin to evaluate your options.

I've written a short piece on my recommendations for approaching staffing firm automation. You may find it helpful.

    Good luck!

    Good afternoon!

Since I commented on this thread 9 day ago, I've heard a lot of private feedback on various software companies, almost all of which is very disheartening.  It seems like there are a bunch of us looking for a full spectrum software system that can function both accurately and honestly.  I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who is actually happy with their software's functions, it's accuracy, the company's service, and the cost?  I know everyone has different needs, but our first two requirements are that the company have integrity and provide accuracy, following that some basic modernizations would be nice.  Has anyone experience a software company that meets those requirements?

This community is such an amazing resource of knowledge and experience, I'm really hopeful that those "happy software users" will chime in.  I'm wondering if there's any way ASA moderators can help support some responses?

Thanks so much and may your software hunting be successful!

Talking with a lot of executives/owners, I've found that a substantial portion of dissatisfaction with software comes from companies expecting software to mask/resolve/fix severely broken or outdated internal processes and/or personnel.

Personally, we have had success with our vendors by sketching out exactly what we want to have happen and then demoing products until we are 100% convinced the software functions to our requirements. It sounds obvious, but I have been surprised over the past few years with how frustrated so many execs are with their software vendors when we have been pretty satisfied.

    Hi Katherine -

I/We are a long time and happy user of COATS.  I think they definitely check the boxes that you mentioned in your post ... "I know everyone has different needs, but our first two requirements are that the company have integrity and provide accuracy, following that some basic modernizations would be nice."

Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss further.

    Have a good one!
