October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and onWednesday, Oct. 6, 3 p.m. ET, the IDEA Group is hosting the webinar, Disability Inclusion in the Workplace, presented by Felicia Nurnsen of the National Organization on Disability

One in five people in the U.S. have a disability, so there's a strong likelihood that individuals working in your company have disabilities or have ties to someone with disabilities. It is important to socialize a corporate culture that is inclusive of people with disabilities as a good business practice-in part because people with disabilities compose a minority group that crosses race, religion, and sexual orientation, and that anyone can become a member of with no warning.

Removing stigmas and barriers associated with this minority group enhances employee relations, increases productivity and creativity, and helps companies develop a positive reputation with customers. Studies have even shown a strong correlation between inclusivity and return on investment.

During this webinar, attendees will learn
    • How to successfully include employees with disabilities in the workplace
    • Accepted practices for interacting with individuals with disabilities-whether they are current employees, job candidates, or clients
    • How to signal your organization's commitment to individuals with disabilities as a valued segment of the workforce, which may encourage employees to feel comfortable disclosing their disabilities
    • Why teaching staff to be able to address disability issues will increase your company's ability to effectively recruit, hire, and retain individuals with disabilities
Registration is FREE and available online--register now!

    Thank you Haley for sharing.

We work and donate to The Learning Center/ Katherine Thomas School (TLC/KTS) This org. works with people with special needs and folks with autism-- and has for 70 years!  I serve on their Development Committee, helping them find local employers for their trained workers.  My involvement with TLC/KTS has been very emotionally rewarding, and I given my staffing experience, I have hopefully added some value to their employment community programs.
I hope all staffing cos reach out to these types of  local programs and develop mutually beneficial relationships. They have some great workers that want to do good job for you and your clients.

    Stay safe,
