    Greetings ASA Community:

Our company has an opportunity to begin staffing a local school district with Teachers.

Have any of you ever placed teachers in a school district?

Are any of you trying to place teachers currently?

Are there any pitfalls involved in this type of staffing that we should be aware of?  Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

We have a large work comp solutions client that staff teachers mostly in the West. They are pretty large

There are many nuances about it because of the local relationships that are very important to make it work well.

Please feel free to call me and we can discuss.

    Stay safe

    David

Do your legal research before you move on this. Each state is different, but some have laws or rules against any school staff being other than government employees. They may also be limited by agreements with unions to ban or limit staffing by outside employers. And even when you can staff teachers or other school personnel, the client may be prohibited from indemnifying you for anything, so the contract could be more disadvantageous than it is with commercial clients.

George Reardon covered this topic well. This is an area of considerable risk. Think about some of the recent issues related to interactions between students and teachers, issues with some of the curriculum being presented, and overall security risks in school settings.

I would think very carefully about this vertical before jumping in.
