    Carol,
    Have you tried checking with your employee benefits consultant/insurance broker?  They should have one or more SME on staff who can help you with both issues.   Also, ASA has some great resources on their legal staff who is familiar with both issues.  The IRS safe harbors for ACA affordability are pretty straightforward.  When you get into discussing measurement periods and the lookback method, make sure you connect with someone who knows the final ACA regulations regarding the "variable hour" employee rules.  They are complex, not so straight forward and easily misunderstood and - as a result of being misunderstood they are often misapplied.  Misapplying them can be very costly and could result in inadvertently making you subject to the ACA "a" penalty - thus working with someone who really knows the rules (and staffing) is highly recommended.
