    - Will anyone share your PTO policy with me? I am doing a review of our current vacation and sick leave policy and would appreciate learning about what other's are doing.
     - Is anyone offering unlimited PTO and, if so, what is your experience.? How does it work?
    Thanks in advance,
    Robin

I assume you are talking PTO for internal staff.

I provide 2 weeks vacation for the first 4 years. On year 5, it goes to 3 weeks vacation.
I also have 6 sick and personal days.

In effect, I lump all the PTO together so they can take as they like.
On top of this I have 8 paid Holidays.

Would you mind sharing how you also handle scheduling time off? For instance, do you give it to who puts the request in first or do you go by seniority? I am trying to revamp our policy as well as it is quite out of date as our internal staff has grown so much.  Also, how do you handle time out for appointments, etc?

    thank you!

We allow it to be on a basis of who put it on the schedule first. With that said we also work as a team. If someone has a big plan for a vacation and someone else just scheduled a few days off that can easily move, they will work together on it.

Similar to Renee – generally whoever puts it on the schedule first gets dibs for that date. But we have a small collaborative team, and people will work together to make sure everything is covered. It's up the each team's manager to make sure there aren't too many people out at the same time and all the work is covered. This is especially important around the holidays when we need a few people "on duty" each day so others can enjoy their time off.

We also have a small team of 8 and we are 100% direct hire and remote so people generally follow up with whatever they need to even when on PTO.--

We do have unlimited/untracked PTO for our internal team.
I'll send you a message with more details, but short story...it's very easy to manage and we've never had anyone take advantage.
If anything, we have to push people to take time off because they don't have to "use up" a certain amount of time.

Hi Robin we also are moving to unlimited PTO. No one has been abusing our policy and it makes things a lot easier to manage. We moved toward a message of respecting our team because they know they will respect us in return and it's been warmly received.

There are too many other companies offering more flexibility on the PTO front. It comes across as outdated to have a tracked system especially for younger employees who are evaluating other options.

Hi Robin. Here's a summary of our PTO program. It is earned based on time with the company and replaces all other forms of time off.
