  • 1.  Job Requisitions Per Recruiter

What is best practice for staffing companies for job requisitions per recruiter?  We do both direct hire placement as well as temp staffing/payrolling/staff augmentation for all skill types but primarily now we have IT reqs and media reqs.

Hello and happy Thursday!  This is a great question and has many different answers.

The best practice is really to assess what your recruiter is doing, each recruiter since you have varying job order types, and set KPIs that match their workload.  For instance, if a recruiter is sourcing candidates, making their resumes, checking references, contacting multiple candidates multiple times a day and also submitting back to the job order then they're pulling a lot of extra labor hours.  They may not be able to effectively handle 30+ job orders at a time.  There's a plethora of risks to losing your recruiter going down that path too.

So first each recruiter's work should be assessed, then set reasonable success goals from there, and be sure to SUPPORT your recruiters with adequate technology and resources.  A lot of the menial tasks can be automated through staffing software.  You'll want to also evaluate industry specific software as it makes things very efficient in the long run and sets recruiters up for sustained success.

    Hope that helps!
